About Us

The New Zealand Avalanche Advisory (NZAA) is owned and managed by the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council (MSC). 

The NZAA works to support backcountry participants in avalanche risk areas in New Zealand. We do this by providing our avalanche forecasting system in thirteen key locations across the country during the relevant avalanche seasons .
